Dreams Waitin' on Me

The Grackle's February project is Las Hadas House. A lively Latin beat accompanies this romanza piece about Las Hadas in Mexico. Las Hadas is where the Grackle and Duckie took their first vacation - and amazingly, the Grackle, a sworn-single person ... proposed. He did it in a big, big way ... in the top of the deserted white Moorish tower. It's the tallest tower you see in the travel pictures of Las Hadas.
It happened right after that romantic dinner in the patio restaurant overlooking the bay and Duckie was melting his heart.
The Grackle didn't know that this was actually a working water tower and he almost slide off the thing near the top, taking Duckie with him. White-faced and feeling lucky to be alive, he proposed to Duckie under the watchful eye of a bright full moon ... right on top of the tower.
They then inched back down the slippery, mossy, rounded steps with leaking water rivulets running right along with them ... and lived to tell the tale.
Las Hadas House would work well in a screenplay set in Old Mexico.

HAPPY VALENTINE, DUCKIE!
... This (probably choral) piece was inspired by our One Hundred Year Snow that began at 9:30 Christmas Eve. It wouldn't stop! It wouldn't melt. It wouldn't go away. Someone sent us the snow of the Millenium for Christmas here in Texas where it never snows. It was quiet. It was soft. It was spiritual. Brazoria County people were absolutely enchanted - mesmerized - inspired through Christmas Sunday and on into Monday.

The Austin Woods are the thin lines of hardwood along our three rivers: The Brazos, The San Bernard and The Colorado. They are the guiding beacon-tree landmarks for half of North America's birds migrating north and south each year.
